All my life I’ve heard politicians calling for climate action to preserve the world for their “kids and grandkids.” Unfortunately, previous generations have not taken the steps needed to prevent climate change’s catastrophic impacts. Environmental change is no longer a theoretical or future problem, but an existential threat. We need to take drastic action as a state to divest from fossil fuels, invest in green technologies that create new jobs, support infrastructure encouraging public transportation, and protect the beautiful Minnesota environment.
During my first term, I was honored to vote in favor of the bill which ensures that Minnesota’s electrical grid will be Carbon-Free by 2040. I promise that as I continue in this office I will prioritize immediate action, challenging even my DFL colleagues to better address climate change.
